What should I do if my swapped coins never show up

Check the transaction on the blockchain first. Most "missing" swaps are simply still pending or were sent to the wrong address.

The most common cause of a swap appearing to fail is impatience. Network congestion can delay confirmations for minutes or even hours. Stablecoin swaps rely on the underlying blockchain - Ethereum, BSC, Solana, or others - each with its own confirmation speed. If you sent coins from an exchange, that exchange may also batch transactions or require extra internal confirmations before broadcasting to the blockchain. Wait at least one hour before taking any further action.

If an hour has passed and the coins have not arrived, verify the transaction ID (TXID) on a block explorer. Copy the TXID from the swap interface or your wallet history. Paste it into the relevant block explorer (Etherscan for Ethereum, BscScan for BSC, Solscan for Solana). Look for the transaction status. A status of "Success" means the blockchain processed it. If the status is "Pending" or "Failed", the issue is on the blockchain side, not with the exchanger.

If the transaction shows "Success" but the coins are not in your wallet, the problem is likely the receiving address. Double-check that you sent to the correct address for the specific stablecoin. Stablecoins often have multiple versions - USDT on Ethereum (ERC-20) is different from USDT on BSC (BEP-20). Sending the wrong version to an address that does not support it can result in permanent loss. If you sent to a wrong address, the coins are irretrievable unless the owner of that address returns them, which is extremely unlikely.

If the address is correct and the transaction succeeded, check whether you need a memo or tag. Some blockchains, particularly Stellar and XRP, require a memo for the exchanger to credit your account. Omitting a memo when one is required means the exchanger cannot match the incoming transaction to your swap. The coins are not lost - they sit in the exchanger's main wallet - but recovering them requires contacting support with your TXID and the correct memo.

If none of the above applies, contact the exchanger's support team. Provide your TXID, the sending and receiving addresses, the stablecoin type, and the exact amount. Do not expect an instant reply. Many exchanges handle support tickets in batches. Be prepared to wait 24 - 72 hours. Scammers often target users who report missing coins, so only use the official support channels listed on the exchanger's website. Never share your private keys or seed phrase with anyone claiming to help.

A small but real possibility: the swap failed due to slippage or insufficient liquidity. Stablecoin swaps on decentralized platforms depend on liquidity pools. If the pool for your pair runs dry during your transaction, the swap may revert. In that case, your original coins return to your wallet, minus network fees. Check your wallet balance for the original coin, not the destination coin.

If you have done all of the above and the coins remain missing after 72 hours, the loss is likely permanent. This is rare but happens. Treat every swap as final once the blockchain confirms it.
